Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. We do not collect or store your Google password.

When you use Paper Animation, we store the project data you create (text inputs, settings, uploaded images) and usage metadata such as credit transactions and timestamps.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and maintain your account
• To save and retrieve your projects
• To process payments and manage credits
• To improve the platform and fix bugs
• To send transactional emails (receipts, account changes)

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using MongoDB and Cloudflare R2. Authentication is handled by Firebase (Google). Payment data is processed and stored by Stripe — we never see or store your full card number.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We share data only with the service providers necessary to operate the platform:

• Firebase (authentication)
• Stripe (payments)
• Cloudflare (file storage and delivery)
• MongoDB Atlas (database)

5. Community Gallery

We run a public Community gallery at paperanimation.ai/community that displays saved projects. Whether your projects appear there depends on your account's plan, not on any per-project setting:

• Free-plan accounts: every project you save is shown publicly, including projects saved before the Community existed.
• Creator and Lifetime accounts: your projects are never shown publicly.

A public listing shows only your display name, profile picture, and the generated animation. We never display your email address, account ID, or the underlying generation settings in the Community.

This is re-evaluated on every visit to the Community page: upgrading immediately removes your existing projects from public view, and if a Creator subscription lapses or is cancelled, your saved projects become publicly visible again. There is currently no way to hide a single project while remaining on the Free plan, and Free-plan accounts cannot delete a saved project themselves — contact us if you need one removed sooner.

6. Cookies

We use a single authentication cookie (firebase-token) to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.

7. Your Rights

Creator and Lifetime accounts can delete their projects at any time from the dashboard; this is not available on the Free plan (see Section 5). If you want to delete your entire account and all associated data, contact us and we will process your request promptly.

8. Children

Paper Animation is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
